Back to school desk organisation:)

Hello again,

Long time eh?

As you will know, back to school came around for most of us around 3 weeks ago (give or take a week depending on where you live). And with back to school comes new folders, planners, notebooks, pens, pencils and all of the other little necessities ready for a new year.

Now I've never been one for a tidy desk area but at the start of this academic year I told myself that I wanted to start being way more organised and keeping things a lot neater and tidier. So far, so good (touches wood).

From this picture you may think "oh well that's quite obviously staged and it wouldn't be that neat!" And that is where you my friend, are correct. No it's not this neat all the time and in order to take the photos I did move my Latin books and I did place 5 of my many notebook in a neat way but that's for the purposes of the blog (I know in my ♡ how tidy it was). This area also doubles up as where I do my makeup and hair in the morning, hence the facial wipes and hairbrush.

My lamp. I love this lamp, but I'm afraid I can't give you a shop or a brand because I bought the lamp from a charity shop, it cost £1:D I then got a new lampshade and just changed it from the dull, ancient white one to this pink and white polka dot one. I feel like having a dark wall behind my desk has its pros and its cons but with the lamp it just brightens up the whole area and makes it feel a little more inviting.

The little quotes are actually postcards from paperchase, and I just find them really cute and motivational, brightening up the real wall. I actually am going to buy a lot more of these so that I can have the whole wall being motivational.

My mirror is also one of my favourite things about the desk. It tilts so you can adjust the angle of it and position it to suit you. It is from Ikea and it is the Myken (I don't have a clue what this means but that's what it says on the label). Again a mirror is an essential for doing makeup and hair, I also have another mirror hung up on my wall that is bigger.

I then have the Zoella makeup bag, full of all my beauty bits and bobs. I might do a what's in my makeup bag post soon, so keep an eye out:)

The little pen pots are actually a DIY and they are so easy to make. I've filled this one with fineliners and ballpoints. (Don't ask me why I have 4 light green pens because I don't know myself). Pens are an essential to any desk and the cuteness of the pot just makes the desk look even more satisfying to sit at, even if I am procrastinating half the time, rather than doing homework. Again I have a blog post about them going up soon so keep your eyes peeled;)

I love to keep lots of notebooks on my desk and have copious amounts of them lying around the house and a whole box full in my bedroom. The thing is I love notebooks but I never want to use them. Once I'm stuck into them, I can fill a notebook in a matter of weeks but ruining the first page is always the worst thing for me. The notebook closest was a gift from a friend nearly two years ago now but I love it a lot. Then there is a marble notebook that I'm pretty sure was out of a magazine a while back (this one I've yet to write in), Then it's a cute technology covered notebook that was from Tesco;s around 6 months ago. Then a plain teal blue one with a bright pink wrap around string to keep everything enclosed. And last but not least is a mustard and fuchsia floral patterned notebook (it looks more pleasing than it sounds).

I could ramble all day about my love of notebooks but I' bore you with my passion.

Keep up to date by adding your email on the subscription list <------ read previous blog post to see how to do this!

Thanks for reading, bye :) <3

Photo a day - week 1:)

Hellö,

So yes I know I just posted a mascara review and yes it's twenty past midnight so it's technically not Sunday but my auntie, sister and I are all doing a photo a day for summer and I'd like to share with you mine for the past 7 days:
This is Monday's photo, and no I didn't take it or draw it myself but one of my best friends drew it and I really like it! I think it's super creative and definitely couldn't draw it myself!

Day 2 is when I decided that I'd do a mascara review and so did an awful few shots of my mascara that I'm loving right now!

Wednesday is a picture of some cheats s'mores which me and Hannah made! They were very tasty and I will share with you the recipe and some more photos in a blog post coming very soon!

Day 4 is a picture of how I arranged my jewellery on my set of drawers in my room! I am going to do a jewellery collection so again keep your eyes out for that soon!

Day 5 is a bit of a weird one really but it's of my handwriting when I wrote checklist in my notebook! I just thought it looked really nice! I did actually have a really eventful day on Friday I just didn't take many photos really!

Day 6 is a picture of my hair that I curled, no my head isn't shaped dodgy I was wearing a flower crown and it's made the back of my head look weird! It's blurry because a 4-year old took the shot but I really like it!

And today was a picture (a rather bad one) of Latin vocab checklist number 19! I took this because I was copying up a lot of vocab into a vocab book for next year, and I don't know why I took it because I had the textbook in front of me, random;)

Okay so that was my week of pictures, I've got lots planned for next week so I'll see you then, bye!x

Ps - if you're reading on a pc then please enter your email on my homepage (I think it works*crosses fingers*) and get updated when I post or if you are on mobile scroll to the bottom of the homepage, click view web version (or something like that) and then add your email! If it doesn't work then leave a comment and I'll sort it out. It should appear here on your screen:
Do you like the new theme by the way? I prefer it to the old one. Goodnight x

Mascara review:)

Hellö,

So today I thought that I would blog again for the first time in what seems like forever! So my collection lengthening mascara (I may have shown it previously) ran out last week so whilst I was out shopping I came across the pink packaged version and I was like "..hmm okay well this looks interesting" and so I picked up one of each.

I will always love the lengthening mascara as it makes my lashes super long and full, somehow without any clumps! It is super long lasting and is easily buildable! It is a great mascara for day-night where you can a apply a reasonable amount in the day to wear to school or work or just a general summer look and then when you're at an event, party or an evening event you can apply another coat (or two) to really open up your eyes and make your eyelashes POP!

I love the wand to this mascara, however I'm a little unsure of how it's meant to be! You see, I always thought it was a straight wand, but mine seems to be curved! In the image above I tried to diminish the fact that it was curved because I'm pretty sure it's meant to be straight! The reason I think it's curved is because I have a real hard time getting the wand back into the tube! The main reason for this is probably because I used my used mascara to photograph and its old and dry! (That's why the photo of it looks incredibly grubby!)
So as I said previously, I also bought the volumising mascara, which claims to give 10x extra volume! I've used this mascara about 5 times now and it is amazing! The wand really grabs every single lash and with just even 1 stroke of the wand you are left with fuller lashes. The mascara doesn't give you length but it certainly gives volume so the two mascaras compatible together give you both long and full lashes!
And just one thing that I love about both mascaras (and some people may find this weird) but when you open and close them, the slanted lid faces the right way and clicks into place. I don't know about anyone else but it's one of the most irritating things when lids of bottles or tubes or whatever don't lie straight with the product :} it's super annoying!

Anyway, I let you get back to your summer holiday/vacation or work and I'll hopefully blog again very soon!

Goodnight x

New Makeup:)

Heyyya,

Today I've decided to blog about some new makeup that I've been trying out and I'm actually really liking it. Most of these products are from the popular brand MUA (MakeUp Academy) and I am in love with this brand. *I'm sorry that there is a lot of lipsticks but I really like them;)* These (look left) are the products that I've been collecting and using. I've really been loving tinted moisturiser at the minute, I find it really nice on my skin and leaves a glowing, dewy look to my skin which I need as I have eczema and therefore have really dry skin!

These are the two BB creams / tinted moisturisers that I've been using recently. I think my favourite for everyday wear is the Nivea tinted moisturising day cream. The garnier BB cream is slightly thicker and darker so I use that more at the weekend. The only pitfall of the Nivea moisturising day cream is that it doesn't soak in like you'd expect a moisturiser to and when you apply powder the moisturiser comes off onto your brush which is really annoying. To battle this though I use the TECHniques buffing brush in the Sam's picks collection and I buff it into my skin a lot more than I usually would so that it does soak in. As I said, I love the finish that it leaves after I do this and think that it is a great way to care for my skin whilst covering it in makeup as well. So if you are like me and don't really like wearing foundation everyday I suggest that you invest in a tinted moisturiser for a lighter, healthy "foundation substitute" to a makeup look.

As I previously metioned, I have been loving MUA quite recently and in particular their matte finish lipsticks. I find buying lipsticks a real chore because I get such dry lips that it makes more sense for me to wear a tinted lip balm or a lipgloss. But I feel these lipsticks so moisturising and they have so many beautiful colours. I was really surprised at this, as 1 lipstick cost £1!!!!! From left to right the shades are - Pouty Pink, Peachy Keen, Totally Nude and Scarlet Siren. I love them all a lot but my favourite has to be Peachy Keen, it is a cross between a pink and an orange and is just really beautiful. Totally Nude is a beautiful browny nude shade, my only downfall about it is that it can look really nude so I wear it thinly and may apply my Ted Baker lipgloss to give it a little more life but I love them a lot!
The next two makeup items are again MakeUp Academy products and they are the bubblegum blusher and a bronzer in shade - 2. I've never really been one of those people that contours with a bronzers but actually it is a really nice shade and I just put it beneath where my blusher goes and then with the remaining bronzer on my brusher I bring it up onto my forehead and onto the bridge of my nose. I then blend it in. I don't use a lot because a little goes a long way and I don't like looking orange so I rarely use a substantial amount.
Onto blusher, I really like this one. It is really similar to one called Bon Bon, which is so pretty. It is again an orangy pink tone and so therefore goes really well with Peachy Keen. I love them both so much! Bubblegum is really nice applied on the apples of your cheeks and then blend up towards your forehead;)

Just quickly before my final product, I'd like to give the Ted Baker London mascara a mention. I love the brush that this comes with, it separates my lashes but also gives them a lot of definition for a 'False lash effect'. I love layering up my mascara but with this you don't need to. It give you fuller, bouncier looking lashes and I find that you don't even need to curl them before you apply this as you can just do it with the wand. Really rate it, and I need a new one because I'm running out;)

And last but not least, this No7 eyeshadow palette. My Dad gave me this about 4 years ago when he used to be like an engineering manager for Boots or something like that and I love it. The colours are all slightly shimmery - as you can see - and they look really pretty. I wear glasses and you can see the eyeshadow beneath which makes them look really defined.

Thank you again for reading and I will blog again in the future no doubt <3

Realising I need to eat healthier...

Hellö, - might be my new start ?!?

How is everyone doing? As I haven't been blogging for a while I kinda lost my line of thought with the whole beauty thing and I really didn't want to post about beauty so I decided to share with you my need to exercise at the minute.
One of my really good friends started going to the gym recently and she's inspired me but also, kind of made me realise that I don't do enough exercise. I also don't eat healthy enough which is really bad too and I think it's because of my life away from school. I say away from school, I mean sitting at home and doing homework for hours because I get so bored and I'm so tired that I can't exercise so I've decided to start a plan in my journal/diary 'if you like.' Here is a list of things that I aim to do:
1. A happier mind - okay so a prime example of me not having a positive out look on things is I walk home from school everyday and I used to not like it. I found it a really big chore because it is around a mile or maybe more I don't even know but I realise that it is really good exercise for me and it's a really good way to help me stay healthy.
2. Work on my figure - I don't want to be an 'it' girl with an hour-glass figure and the most toned body ever but I really just want to work out more. Just to make myself feel healthier. I also think doing this will help me have a better mind set^!
3. Generally eat healthier - I'm not the most healthy person ever because I believe that having a treat every now and again is fair. But, I do eat a lot of fruit and veg I just feel like I could cut down on how much I eat and control the stuff that I do eat.
4. Drink more water - I definitely don't drink enough water although quite recently I have been drinking more but certainly not enough. Drinking water for me helps hydrate my skin and is especially good for eczema so why I don't drink enough of it seems strange even to me. It'll also help to detox and I do like the detox waters that you can make for yourself. *personally I like lemon, grape and orange detox water. I don't drink them a lot but I've had a few and they're really nice*
5. Look at when I eat - I'm not one of those people that doesn't eat after 6pm or something like that because I like having a bowl of cereal or a piece of toast before bed. But I really do think I shouldn't eat as late as I do because when I don't have a snack before bed I wake up in the morning feeling fine and when I do, I don't feel very well. So I'm going to try and stick to no eating after 7pm.

That's it for today's blog, I'm sorry that there isn't any pictures and it's probably a bit boring but I'm hoping to do a beauty related blog very soon as I have some time off over the half term. I love you guys:)x

Today...

Aloha,

I'm back blogging! I took a little break because I had loads of exams and I just needed a little more time to myself and blogging wasn't what I wanted to do... But HEY I'm back and I'm looking forward to it. Today I decided to do a more down to earth diary type blog. But I can't really write about stuff that I've done today because it would be mega boring:
"Woke up, watched 1 episode of PLL, ate half an Easter egg, went and watch 315mins of PLL, made macaroni cheese, went out with Welly (you know who you are although you don't read my blog I don't think) came in, ate tea, got into pjs, texted people, sat in bed blogging...." Boring huh?...
So I'm just gonna type stuff randomly about what's happened or other stuff and see what you guys think...
Does anyone else just think, 'ugh, I have homework but then there's YouTube and you're just there like maths<YouTube?' Idk why that is at all relevant but it seemed like it today! I've just had a really rubbish day except for being with Welly (the weirdo) playing catch with a netball, playing truths and a deep game of would you rather. So it hasn't been all that bad I suppose.
I forgot to mention - HAPPY EASTER GUYS!!! I hope you've all eaten a lot of chocolate (or if you're like me, have strategically eaten smaller amounts everyday so that you have some left for when you actually want chocolate not just eating it because it's there;) If you don't celebrate Easter or didn't get chocolate for whatever reason then ignore this or accept my virtual Easter egg - 0
I've been trying out quite a lot of new hair care products recently as I've recently returned from a swimming holiday and I don't know whether it's just me but my hair goes a bit straw like and matted because of the chlorine so I've been testing different shampoo's and conditioners and really have found some combos that work well with my hair. I've never really stuck to one brand but Herbal Essences stands out for me at the moment for being one that I'm really loving. I'm really loving their coconut shampoo and their honey shampoo. I find them really nourishing for my hair and love the colours of the shampoo (which is just an added bonus).
I like finding something new that I love because it just makes me feel distracted from my normal routine and makes me look forward to new things that come up in my life.

Thank you for reading, I'm sorry if it was boring but comment below whether you like this style, as I find these easier to do and could maybe upload one every so often?
